About the Artist

Born in New Jersey, USA. Cheryl first discovered an interest in photography while studying a BFA in Art History. Moving to New York in the mid-’80s, she freelanced as an assistant for a short period before landing her first major commission for Levi’s. Known and widely recognised for her street photography and documentary filmmaking, Cheryl has successfully integrated her style and vision into her commercial work, attracting commissions from brands such as Diesel, Woolrich, Nike and Adidas. Her 2013 film ‘Everybody Street’ won countless awards and was screened extensively at film festivals worldwide including the Tate Modern, London. This feature-length film documents the lives and works of New York’s iconic street photographers and the city that inspires them. 2021 saw the release of her feature-length documentary ‘Moments Like This Never Last’ exploring the life and legacy of the late artist Dash Snow. She continues to live in NYC.

Cheryl Dunn has been shooting music festivals for over 20 years. She shoots from the pit or from the first row for the biggest rock stars in the world, but she is also a fan. The photographs celebrate what she has seen, who she has danced with, and who she made pictures with.
