Cheryl has directed this documentary for T Magazine featuring 21 extraordinary actors who came together at the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in Manhattan to reminisce about their first big breaks.

As a long-term contributor to the ANP Quarterly, Emma Reeves sat down with Cheryl to interview her about her storied career.

Cheryl’s photographs from a politically charged Summer feature in the current issue of True Photo Journal.
Taken in London and Philadelphia, they capture protests of all styles and sizes.

New work from Cheryl for the Village Voice to tie in with New York Fashion week.

About the Artist

Born in New Jersey, USA. Cheryl first discovered an interest in photography while studying a BFA in Art History. Moving to New York in the mid 80’s, she freelanced as an assistant for a short period before landing her first major commission for Levi’s. Known and widely recognised for her street photography and documentary filmmaking, Cheryl has successfully integrated her style and vision in to her commercial work, attracting commissions from brands such as Nike, Motorola, Adidas and Quiksilver. Her 2013 film “Everybody Street” won countless awards and was screened extensively at film festivals worldwide including the Tate Modern, London. This feature length film documents the lives and works of New York’s iconic street photographers and the city that inspires them. She continues to live in NYC.

Cheryl Dunn has been shooting music festivals for over 20 years. She shoots from the pit or from the first row for the biggest rock stars in the world, but she is also a fan. The photographs celebrate what she has seen, who she has danced with, and who she made pictures with.
