In 2018, Giorgio Armani and his Acqua for Life team chose Viviane Sassen to create new work about their funding partnership with WaterAid in Madagascar. In the Manjakandriana region, WaterAid are building a pipeline to bring clean water to more than 5300 people.

Creatively it was very important throughout this project that water be considered an enabler of life and of promise. To not focus on the lack, but to consider the joy of better sanitation and clean, fresh drinking water. The benefits of which are better maternal and child health, and cleaner sanitation in schools and homes. This will rid communities of daily, common diseases that disrupt being able to go to school and will raise the fulfilment of potential.
