About the Artist
Born in Chicago. Justin French is a photographic artist, whose work, a direct extension of his community lends a compassionate and empowering examination of humanity. Portraying human diversity, he endeavours to construct a visual continuum which bridges classic portraiture in modern image making. His work has been published in publications such as i-D, Dazed and Confused, T Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Vogue Italia, Wall Street Journal and he has collaborated with international brands such as Apple. In 2017, Justin participated in his first fine art exhibition as a part of Red Hook Labs’ inaugural ‘Labs New Artists’ and continues to exhibit in galleries such as the MoAD, San Francisco, MICA, Baltimore and MoMA PS, NYC. In 2019 he was included in ‘The New Black Vanguard: Photography Between Art and Fashion’, curated by Antwaun Sargent, showing at Aperture, New York. He currently divides his time between London and New York.
